Dar reminds the IT industry that it promises to increase exports

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Thursday assured full support to the IT industry to resolve their concerns and highlighted the commitments made by the industry with the Prime Minister for speedy boost in IT exports.

Minister of Finance and Minister of Information Technology and Telecommunication Syed Amin Ul Haque co-chaired the meeting of the steering committee to facilitate the promotion of the IT sector held at the Directorate of Finance.

The meeting reviewed the progress on the directions given by the Prime Minister in the meeting held on January 5 to increase IT exports. Representatives of the IT industry discussed the ease of doing business and cost of doing business faced by the industry and shared recommendations with the finance minister to resolve immediate issues.

The IT minister appreciated the efforts and support of the finance minister and assured the full cooperation of his ministry and reaffirmed his confidence in the IT industry to boost its exports.

SAPM Finance Tariq Bajwa, SAPM Youth Affairs Shaza Fatima Khwaja, Governor State Bank of Pakistan Jameel Ahmad, Secretary IT, Secretary Finance, Chairman SECP, VC Hazara University, PSEB MD Junaid Iman, Chairman P@SHA Zohaib Khan, Contour Pvt. Ltd CEO Bilal Mahmood, senior officials from FBR and Finance department and leading IT exporters attended the meeting.
