LHC stops transfer of LDA Director General

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court has issued an order restraining the Punjab government from transferring Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General Aamir Ahmad Khan.

According to a press release issued by the LDA, the court directed the Punjab Chief Secretary not to make any changes in the current LDA DG.

Further, the court directed the LDA DG to frame rules and regulations for appointment of environmental consultant to address environmental concerns on major city highways.

The press release also said that the LDA, as per the court’s directions, is taking steps to convert the city’s main highways into model roads and is campaigning on electronic media, major national newspapers and social media.

A report on the progress of these efforts will be submitted to the court at its next meeting on February 3, 2023.
