ISLAMABAD: Federal Communications Minister Asad Mahmood has approved the construction of residential apartments for employees of National Highways Authority (NHA).
The project will be located near the M-1 and M-2 highways and will offer affordable housing to NHA employees through easy installment plans.
According to the details, the foundation stone of the project is to be laid this month.
The apartments will be built on 121 kanals of NHA land and will include a host of amenities.
Apart from residential development, the minister also ordered construction of two additional loops at M-1 and M-2 interchanges to improve access to Lahore, Peshawar and Islamabad airports.
This project is part of the federal government’s housing initiative, which was launched in 2019 and aimed to build five million houses across the country over five years to overcome the shortage of affordable housing in Pakistan.
