The Ministry will make a U-turn in the verification of sugar data

Official sources informed that the Ministry of National Food Safety and Investigation has canceled the process of independent inspection and verification of sugar stocks in sugar mills across the country.

The Sugar Advisory Board (SAB), which reports to the Ministry of National Food Security and Research, is mandated to monitor sugar and sugar stocks in the country. SB Advises the government on key decisions related to the sector, including sugar exports and imports.

Recently, the Pakistan Sugar Mills Association (PSMA) said that the country has more than one million metric tons of sugar reserves. The government decided to confirm and confirm the application of PSMA. In this regard, the Ministry of National Food Security (SAB) has considered engaging the services of a reputed auditing firm to check and verify the surplus stocks of sugar mills across Pakistan.

The Ministry has started the process of contracting an auditing firm for stock clearance services. The company had to complete all stock verification within two weeks of the award letter. But now the ministry has canceled the process.
